VX220 & Opel Speedster Front Clam Lightweight

Full fitting/painting service available at our West Yorkshire HQ - Full accident repair facilities in addition to our servicing and tuning/setup services

We have now developed a replacement front clamshell for the VX220 and Opel Speedster. Our intensive process for tooling of the clam molds involved not just sourcing an original clamshell but stripping back and prepping the clam.

This process means that the finished reproduction requires almost no paintshop preparation as the surfaces are pre-flatted. All the holes and cutouts are done in the factory so the clam arrives ready to bolt to your car ready for paint.

This version of the clam is a lightweight version intended for race car use only. It is manufactured to the same high standards as our regular road going clam but is made from thinner material and has no internal stengthening ribs. The result is a panel weighing around 7kg - half the weight of the original at 14kg. Although lighter and thinner than our roadgoing version this panel is still stronger than the flimsy original clamshell.

Along with the pre prepping of the original clam another important change we made was to make the outer part of the clam in one single piece. This means there is no margin for error in terms of alignment of the different parts of the clamshell which along with poor fit and finish is something that has plagued other’s previous attempts at making this part.

The clam is produced to a high standard and will require minor finishing prior to painting. The clam can easily be fitted by and competent DIY owner or bodyshop.

We can organise freight delivery anywhere in Europe or worldwide.

When buying a clam we have an exclusive offer of adding a hardtop kit to your order for just £450 extra. If the clam is in for paint why not get the painters to spray you a brand new roof?
